Serenity Prayer for the Poker Player

God grant me the serenity
to accept the river cards that I cannot change;
courage to fold pocket kings when AA flops and I hear "all in";
and wisdom to know when they're pulling a move on me.

Living one hand at a time - smartly;
Savoring each win;
Accepting that bad beats are the pathway to insanity;
Taking, as He did, that fish who calls with 62o and flops trips;
not as I would have it!
Trusting that He will make all things right IF I can keep from surrendering my chip stack for the stupid calls and hands I have no business being in with;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him (when I win).
